Fire Force Season 2 Episode 1
The episode is titled “A Fire Soldier’s Fight”. Here we get to see that life has returned to normal. The past events involving the Evangelist sending the White Clad seems to have never taken place. However, Shinra is still determined to find a way to turn the Infernals back into people. He also wants to unravel the mystery of the Evangelist and the Adolla Bursts.
The episode starts with Maki, Iris, and Tamaki take Shinra for shopping for clothes for Lieutenant Hinawa because of his poor dressing sense. They are suddenly interrupted by a series of explosions. When Shinra goes to investigate those explosions, he is attacked by a giant sentient Infernal who shoots balls of fire from its mouth. Arthur arrives to assist Shinra and they are soon joined by the rest of the Company 8. The group temporarily defeats the Infernal when Victor sheds light on the fact that the Infernal has five separate cores in its body and each core must be destroyed to kill the Infernal permanently.
The Infernal revives and the team starts collaborating to work according to the plan. Shinra attacks and destroys the central core with his powerful “Rapid-Man Kick” while the others destroy the core in its arms and legs. Shinra is introduced to the Fire Force annual male nude calendar project, by Captain Obi. However, their cheesy “double-cobra” pose results in Company 8’s photo being pushed to the last place again.
This episode has been directed by Tatsuma Minamikawa and was aired on 3rd July 2020. The second episode of the season, “Flames of Madness” will air on 10th July 2020.
The anime revolves around the period of Year 198. Two hundred and fifty years before this year, The Great Disaster took place which lit almost the entire world on fire. Most of the planet became uninhabitable as many nations were destroyed by getting consumed in flames. The survivors took refuge in Japan’s Tokyo Empire which remained mostly stable even though Japan lost most of its landmass.

In the year 198, a special fire brigade was established named, the Fire Force who fought increasing incidents of spontaneous human combustion where human beings are turned into living infernos called, “Infernals”.
These Infernals underwent powerful horned variations thus resulting in the later generations possess pyrokinesis while retaining human form. The Fire Force was formed by combining people with these powers from the Holy Sol Temple, The Tokyo Armed Forces, The Fire Defense Agency, and eight other independent companies.
The story revolves around a third-generation pyrokinetic youth named, Shinra Kusakabe. He was called by the name, “Devil’s Footprints” for his ability to ignite his feet at his will. He is inducted into Special Fire Force Company 8 which features other pyrokinetics who dedicated themselves to the ending of the Infernal attacks.
Shinra learns about his younger brother’s abduction by a mysterious doomsday cult, during the fire that killed their mother 12 years ago. He also learns that the cult is responsible for all the Infernal attacks.
