Ubisoft Technologies is coming up with an action-adventure game called ‘Watch Dogs: Legion’ this year and the sequel to ‘Watch Dogs 2’. The game was supposed to be launched in March but was postponed. Let us see further in the article to find out about its release date, storyline, and all we need to know.
The game is set in the streets of London. It can be played from a third-person perspective. The game will be released on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox series X and Stadia.
Watch Dogs: Legion Gameplay and Development:
The story revolves around DedSec, which is a hacker group. The group has to combat a surveillance state who has taken over the United Kingdom. DedSec forms a resistance force by recruiting allies throughout the country. Each character owns a unique skill set and an inbuilt background that influences the story of the game as they progress. The player can transport himself using vehicles and underground stations along with walking. They have represented various landmarks which will be built in the near future in London. This is a multi-character game unlike the previous ones, where a unique character is given each mission. It comprises of three acts which are: combat, stealing, and hacking. The characters can be killed during the game or they can surrender expecting the others to come and rescue them.
Ubisoft Toronto had developed this game recruiting developers who worked with Unix during the development of ‘Far Cry’ and ‘Far Cry 2’. It is headed by Clint Hocking who is the creative director. It was also considered a political matter as debates and controversies were raised. Statements were made whether the futuristic visualization of London in the game is a setting to post Brexit whereas, in January 2020, Hocking stated it is a ‘creator of culture’ wanting to include real elements across the environment so that the players can engage and get to know about the world.
On 5th June 2019, Ubisoft announced a teaser of ‘Watch Dogs: Legions’ via their official Twitter account. Recently, on 13th July 2020, Ubisoft released an overview trailer of the gameplay. The gameplay seems to be really interesting and a bit different from the previous versions. It surely excites the gamers who will be looking forward to the release of the game. You can watch the trailer below.
Watch Dogs: Legion Release Date:
The game was supposed to release on 6th March 2020 but was delayed by Ubisoft. In January 2020, Hocking did an interview with Marc Cieslak. He mentioned all the virtual techniques used with the studios. The game is currently scheduled to be released on 29th October 2020 and will probably help Ubisoft to get into the gaming industry after their disappointing response for ’Ghost Recon Breakpoint’.
