Akame ga Kill Season 2: Release Date – New Season Confirmed
Akame ga Kill was a Japanese anime that aired on the television in 2014. It was based on the manga by Takahiro, illustrated by Tetsuya Tashiro. It was a great hit at the time. This led to the hype for the second season. However, the anime never showed despite the rumored release dates.
Season 1 Details
Akame ga Kill means Red-Eye Kill! The story focuses on a group of assassins. Our main character at the start is Tatsumi. She had arrived at the capital to make money for her poor village. She falls into the trap of some noble people. However, these people tortured and killed people. Soon, the Night Raid arrives at the scene and recruit him in their group.
The story is full of action along with the dark fantasy. There are brutal scenes along with many sudden deaths. It is loved for its fast-paced action sequences. The anime spanned over 24 episodes. When the script of this anime was written, the manga was nowhere to the completion. After Episode 19, the anime built its own story that diverges from the manga. However, many of the ideas were retained in the manga afterward.
Akame ga Kill Season 2 Release Date
The first season of the series covered the whole story of Akame Ga Kill. The ending was anime exclusive as the manga had not finished yet. You may have found some differences in the final episodes. The Akame ga Kill manga has a prequel”Akame Ga Kill! Zero”. This manga was never animated despite its popularity. There is a sequel manga “Hinowa ga Crush” as well.
According to some rumors, the Akame Ga Kill anime will air in 2021. However, there is no official announcement. We still don’t know if the anime is under production or not. We may get the announcement at the end of this year. If the production was already planned, the anime may get further delays due to the COVID Pandemic.
Season 2 Expected Plot
The new season is rumored to span over 12 episodes. The plot is likely taken from the Akame ga Kill! Zero. This is a spin-off prequel manga that spans over 10 volumes. It mostly focuses on the story of one of the members of Night Raid, Akame. She is regarded as the female protagonist of the story. She shows very severe behavior in fights but shows deep concerns for her comrades. The spin-off covered the past of Akame when she worked for the empire as an assassin. This was before she defected to the Night Raid.
Akame ga Kill has not got the season 2 for more than 5 years. The rumors have come up multiple times since then. The first season was produced by Square Enix. It appeared on multiple TV channels and received some promising reviews. But the story was completed. At this point, only the spin-offs can be animated. Even if the rumors are true, animating the spin-offs is far-fetched. The chances of remastered Anime series, that is more accurate concerning the manga, are also low. What do you think about it?
