Developed by Microsoft, ‘Xbox Series X’ is a video game console which is scheduled to release this year. With storage, if 1 TB and expandable storage, the console belongs to the fourth generation of the Xbox family. The team has focused on hardware performance this time by promising display resolutions like 8k resolution. There are no plans for exclusive games for the series, but it is compatible with the majority of the Xbox One games, including that of Xbox 360 and Original Xbox. About two months ago, Xbox also released an official first look Xbox Series X Gameplay video on its official YouTube channel. The video shows different games that will be compatible with the console and different reviews from people on Microsoft’s latest development. It has already crossed 2 million views. What to expect from the Xbox Series X?
The console was announced with the primary objective to double the graphic performance as that of Xbox One X. It was also said the would increase the CPU performance by at least four-folds. In 2019, the codename ‘Project Scarlett’ was assigned to Xbox Series X, and the fans were given a teaser of it in the E3 2019 press conference. There is also a cheaper alternative expected, which will be known as Xbox Series S. It is said to be one of the biggest console launches, as it includes around 100 games to be made available at the launch itself.
The new Xbox will have a wireless controller, which includes a share button and can stand both vertically and horizontally. The console has around 8k output with a frame rate of 120 frames per second. A quick resume feature has also been added, allowing the gamers to suspend and resume more than one game simultaneously. It will even provide them with an option to continue their suspended games after rebooting the console.
Xbox Series X is compatible with many games, as mentioned earlier. Some of the games that give the best experience on Xbox X are Halo Infinite, State of Decay 3, Avowed, Forza Motorsport 3, Everwild, Destiny 2: Beyond Light, Fable 4 and more. The upcoming series also has a feature called the Smart Delivery, which can provide a transition for the players from Xbox One to Xbox Series X seamlessly. On 13th December 2019, Xbox released an official 4K trailer of Xbox Series X World Premiere on its official YouTube channel. It has already crossed 13.6 million views. The console is scheduled to release in late 2020, but no official date has been announced by Microsoft yet. As per what the sources, the official launch date for the UK might be 26th November 2020. This is because, in some regions, offices said that the product would hit the market by Thanksgiving 2020 i.e., the holiday season.
The product was earlier planned to be launched at the 2020 Game Developers Conference and E3 2020. But, the events were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Even though the events were canceled, the hardware specifications were given by Microsoft in the form of an online presentation in March 2020. The cost for Xbox One X was approximately €450.
