Tesla, Inc. aka Tesla Motors, Inc. is an American electric vehicle and clean energy company, based in Palo Alto, California. Tesla, Inc. operates through two segments: Automotive, and Energy generation and storage. Tesla manufactures fully electric vehicles, energy storage systems etc.

Tesla is well-known for making car and providing one of the best driving experience, last year in June Tesla takes it an experience to the next level and launch “Tesla Arcade”. Tesla Arcade is a collection of games that the Tesla owners can play in the centre of the car. Arcade has lots for games to play from like the special edition of Beach Buggy Racing 2, Mario Kart, Ping etc.

The Games can be played directly from the screen or by using the steering wheel and brake pedal of the car to control your gaming avatar, making the experience very realistic and fun. In the racing games, the acceleration of the car will automatic.

Now Tesla, Inc. is hiring A New Game Development Team maybe this time Tesla is going is make a game more than just a simulation because job listings seem more focused on building a gaming platform than on developing singular games.

The Official Website says Job Category to be Engineering & Information Technology (Video Games Engineer, Infotainment Software).

Tesla describes the job description of the video games engineer as:

“Tesla strives to make its cars the most fun possible; bringing video game experiences to the car helps increase that fun. In this incredibly rare opportunity to help build a video games platform, we are looking for a highly motivated software engineer to help enable the best video game content to be available in-car. Come put that industry experience to great use and help us build this platform.”

Tesla describes the job Responsibilities as:

  • Design, architect, implement and debug game platform interfaces and systems
  • Rapid prototyping and ownership of fun in-car customer experiences
  • Work with a cross-functional team of hardware engineers, application/UI software engineers, QA/validation, and designers
  • Communicate with game development and publishing partners

According to the other job listings, the software team in Austin will work not only on video games but also on other aspects of Tesla’s infotainment system.
