Dirt 5 Delayed Again! New Release Date, System Requirement & Updates!

Colin McRae Rally (Dirt) is a series or video game (Racing Video Game) developed and published by Codemasters. Started in 1998, the franchise has been a critical and commercial success and is generally acknowledged as a pioneer of realistic rally sports racing games. The first game Colin McRae: Dirt was published in 2007 for Microsoft Windows, PS3 and Xbox 360.

The series has seven games out up till now  Colin McRae: Dirt (2007), Colin McRae: Dirt 2 (2009), Dirt 3 (2011), Dirt: Showdown (2012), Dirt Rally (2015), Dirt 4 (2017) and Dirt Rally 2.0 (2019). In 2020 Dirt 5 is scheduled to be launched in October. Like the previous games of the series Dirt 5 also are available on all the major platforms like on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X.

Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, we are seeing a delay in almost everywhere and the gaming industry is no exception. The rally “Dirt 5” game was supposed to release October 9 but then got a pushed back to October 16. But due to some reasons, the Dirt 5 is pushed back a second time to November 6.

Reason for the Delay

Codemaster Twitted the reason for the delay, the statement that Codemaster put on Twitter says that “to take advantage of the next-generation console launches which are expected in time for the holiday season.” Codemaster also says that there will be new footage and news to come between now and November including the complete car list and next-gen feature details.

The studio also reminded fans that people who buy Dirt 5 for PS4 or Xbox One can get a free upgrade to a “next-gen optimized” version of the game for PS5 or Xbox Series X when those consoles release at no extra charge.

As the sony announce there new console Play Station 5 Code master decided to make there game more optimized for the console playing. Nvidia has also presently announced there new RTX 30 series graphics cards, so we can also see the Colin McRae Rally Dirt 5 have a special upgrade for the new Nvidia RTX 30 series. Codemasters also plans to discuss more of the PS5 and Xbox Series X features for the game, along with more multiplayer details, in the time ahead.

Colin McRae Rally Dirt 5 is going to be a little different from the other games of the serious. For the first time, players will be able to create their own courses with an arena editor called Playgrounds, letting drivers design, build, and share their creations. There will be a couple of game modes with some high powered tracks.

In the new Playgrounds mode “career mode” we are going to listen to some familiar voices. Voices like Troy Baker, who has lent his vocal cords to the likes of The Last of Us and Bioshock Infinite, will perform alongside Nolan North of Marvel’s Avengers fame. Baker and North played well off each other as the Drake brothers in Uncharted 4.

It will be interesting to see what new things we got to see in Dirt 5. Dirt 5 will release on PC and consoles November 6.
