Looks like Tom Pelphrey had been living under a rock before his lady love, Kaley Cuoco, graced his life! He didn’t have any idea about the fandom of the superhit series, The Big Bang Theory, and the beloved character of Penny!
Yes, you heard that right. In a recent interview, he confessed that he was puzzled when his family addressed her with “Penny” instead of Kaley. It sounds like his whole family is a fan of the show. He said,
“Matter of fact, when I first brought Kaley to New Jersey to meet my family and friends, my mom’s partner — who apparently was a Big Bang Theory fan — was there, and he kept calling her Penny. I had no clue what was going on.”
“I pulled Kaley aside, like, ‘I’m sorry, I don’t understand what’s happening. Why does he keep calling you Penny?’ She’s like, ‘That’s my character in The Big Bang Theory.’ I was completely unaware.
I’ve watched a few episodes with her since, and obviously, she’s fantastic.” Tom Pelphrey owning up to his mistake is the most wholesome moment we didn’t know we needed!
Pelphrey added, “I hadn’t seen Kaley in anything. Look, I live in a cave. Before I met Kaley, I was living in upstate New York, on a dirt road, in the middle of the woods, without much WiFi. She’s brought me into modern times.”

The Big Bang Theory fame, Kaley Cuoco, and Guiding Light actor Tom Pelphrey met at the premiere of Ozark in April 2022. The meeting was set up by their manager Andrea Pett Joseph. Penny quoted, “I went inside; I was so excited. We met there – and it was love at first sight.” The lovely couple welcomed their first child, Matilda, in March 2023.
Kaley Cuoco’s Swear To Never Marry Again
Kaley Cuoco has never been lucky with marriage and handling her love life. The Flight Attendant actress previously dated a fair share of people and was even married twice.
Two failed marriages made her realize that matrimony isn’t her cup of tea. Kaley Cuoco said in an interview following her split with ex-husband Karl Cook (2021),
“I will never get married again, “I would love to have a long-lasting relationship or a partnership. But I will never get married again,” She further added, “Absolutely not. You can literally put that on the cover.”
Her first marriage with tennis player Ryan Sweeting also didn’t survive long. The couple decided to marry within a few months of dating each other in 2013. She filed for a divorce after being married for about one and half years as they had “irreconcilable differences”.
Kaley Cuoco even joked about how fast her relationship was going with Ryan Sweeting, “We got married in, like, six seconds.”
Talking about her dating life, she went out with her co-star on the sets of The Big Bang Theory, Johnny Galecki (2007 to 2009). It’s strange how the media had no clue about their relationship. She further dated Superman: Man Of Steel star Henry Cavill in 2013. Reports say that their romance lasted for just ten days.
Kaley Cuoco was also seen dating Jaron Lowenstein for almost a year between 2005 and 2006.
In the early stages of her career, Kaley dated Kevin Zegers while shooting for “The Hollow” in 2003. Their relationship lasted for about one year.
