The 1997 comedy’s sequel has been whispered about for a while, but Paramount finally confirmed the announcement on Friday, giving it the go-ahead.                         We even have our first story synopsis to analyze, with Kel Mitchell and Kenan Thompson scheduled to return as Ed and Dexter.

In Good Burger 2, Dex is given his former position back by Ed when he returns to Good Burger. With a new crew at Good Burger, Dex devises a plan for getting back onto his feet but unintentionally puts the eatery in jeopardy yet again.

Good Burger 2: Release Date

Anybody with a shred of comedy in their flesh will concur with me that Good Burger is still recognizable today. If not, you’re a fool who must be a blast to hang out with.  On The Tonight Show, which starred Jimmy Fallon, it was revealed that Good Burger 2 had finally received approval and that Kenan and Kel would return to their respective parts.

After yet another failed invention, Dexter finds himself in desperate circumstances and returns to his previous position at Good Burger, where Ed now supervises an entirely new team. The movie will start shooting in May with a late 2023 Paramount+ release date in mind.

Good Burger 2: Expected Plot

Mitchell, who also had a lot to be happy about, said it’s “super awesome” to return and carry on the tales of Dex, Ed, and Good Burger “for both the people who brought up viewing and their kids.”

Co-Heads of Nickelodeon & Awesomeness Live-Action Shauna Phelan, along with Zack Olin, teased that the sequel will be filled with Easter eggs and cameos it will toast the nostalgia of the original film and series, which captivated a crew generation of admirers.

The Good Burger section, which debuted as a sketch on the comic program All That, rose to prominence. The drawing was later turned into a comedic film in 1997, which had a global debut and significantly increased the fame of Thompson and Mitchell. The relationship between focused Dex and clueless Ed, whose opposing personalities always made for excellent comedy, was examined in both the sketch and the film.

Who will accompany Mitchell and Thompson when they return? Us Weekly claimed that the two unexpectedly appeared at 90s Con on March 18 and mentioned their desire to bring back several well-liked performers.

They currently have Sinbad, who portrayed instructor Mr. Wheat, and All That alumni Lori Beth Denberg and Danny Tamberelli on their roster. On The Tonight Show, they showed a few more well-known names.

Good Burger: Final Thoughts

The plot involves Ed creating a secret sauce to save the Good Burger restaurant while Kurt plots to obtain it. Meanwhile, Ed and Dexter become friends with Otis (Abe Vigoda), possibly the world’s oldest fast-food worker, who must be rescued from the Demented Hills Asylum due to mishaps.

Additionally, there is a cute little love subplot featuring Monique (Shar Jackson), who has a crush on Ed but cannot win him over because burgers are his everything. Spatch (Ron Lester), a minor character who enjoys swatting flies off his brow, is one of them.

But to comprehend “Good Burger” at its intended level, you must be between ages 4 and 11 and be familiar with the show’s characters. The film is innocent, kind-hearted, bright, and lively, but it lacks the sophistication that helped Pee-wee Herman films and TV shows transcend their target child audiences and win over adults.

It’s a kid’s film, the end of the story.
